Trail Vogue was set up in 2025 by Iain Cameron, a Scottish outdoors’ enthusiast and author, to offer advice and thoughts on walking and exploring in the uplands of the UK. Iain specialises in snow-patch research, having written almost 30 scientific, peer-reviewed papers and a book called ‘The Vanishing Ice’. However, he has been walking, skiing, and scrambling in the hills for over 30 years, and has an intimate knowledge of the terrain (and the skills required to navigate them).

Through his work and study, Iain has acquired a sound understanding of the clothes, footwear, and equipment needed to make hiking and trail-walking safe and relatively inexpensive. In this website he shares his thoughts on what you can do to make sure that the only things you remember about your walk are the views and weather.
