A selection of photographs taken by us, showing some of the best and wildest parts of the Scottish Highlands.

Tràigh Iar (try EEar) is a spectacular beach on the west coast of Harris in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. Harris has some of the finest concentration of picture-postcard beaches anywhere in the UK.

High in the spectacular Grey Corries, near Fort William, on a beautiful June morning. The early-morning mist slowly melted as we sat in the warm sunshine, savouring the views all around us.

Sunset on the top of Beinn Ime in Argyll. A warm evening spent under the stars followed, with just a sleeping bag on top of a mat.

A lone walker approaches from the path below, having ascended the Cobbler (Ben Arthur) very early in the morning.

We emerged from the inversion in Glen Coe, having walked in the gloom for miles. As we neared the summit we broke into bright, warm sunshine despite it being in the middle of November. An unforgettable view.

Exploring a snow tunnel in June, high on the slopes of Ben Macdui, Scotland’s second highest hill. Despite the warmth of the day outside it was no warmer in the tunnel than a fridge. A welcome relief for the overheating hiker.

Skiing across a high plateau in the Cairngorms in February. The soft snow made walking almost impossible, but with skis we covered many miles with almost no effort. A bitterly cold day, but so worthwhile.

Looking towards Aonach Beag, one of the highest mountains in Scotland. Despite it being the middle of June, large patches of snow remained on the highest peaks. For a brief moment the mountain appeared between the clouds, then disappeared once more.

Heading up an isolated mountain in the Southern Highlands. The snow was hard-packed, but softened up in the warm spring sunshine, allowing for easy ascent across otherwise boggy conditions. A glorious day amid superb surroundings.

Making camp outside a remote mountain hut, deep in the Cairngorms. The shelter already had two campers in it, who were very surprised to see other walkers! Luckily we brought tents, otherwise it could have been a very damp evening for us…

A rare May snow-storm completely covered the Cairngorm plateau, allowing us to don our skis and undertake a 12 mile circuit. In the distance we spotted two lone walkers struggling through the deep snow. A burst of sunshine illuminated the slope they were on, while everything else remained gloomy.

An ice tunnel high on the slops of Ben Nevis, taken in July. The colours, all completely natural, were surreal to see.
